Dance studies is a discipline in the humanities with close links to music, theatre and cultural studies.

In theatre studies or dance studies, one deepens and expands the fund of new skills and abilities acquired. The focus is on the guided complex examination of historical and contemporary scenic processes and events as well as theoretical and practical questions on the genesis of theatre and dance. Dance scientists are enabled to independently analyse and conceive scenic processes and performances.
